Last dress up for sale!

I've finally posted up the final dress up for sale! These dresses have given me so much joy on my wedding day - it is a little sad to have to part with them. I remember how I bought these two dresses in Bandung on impulse with my girlfriends, because I just loved it the first time I tried it on. You know how you have your ideas on how you want your wedding dress to be like, I've seen hundreds of pictures on magazines and online! But until you try it on, and twirl around in front of the mirror, you can never know :)

After the last post, I can't help but remember an episode of F.R.I.E.N.D.S. TOW Monica tried to snatch a wedding dress from another lady. Remember, if you've found your dress - hold on to it for dear life! Enjoy!

The Right Gown

Phew! Haven't been posting as much as I would like. That's why I don't keep my own personal blog, the furthest I've went with one was "Hello World!". And that was it. With this blog, I've got some motivation driven in, so keep going I will! 

So! If you've stumbled on this page 'coz you typed in wedding dress for sale in Malaysia or something (I did that, and my page doesn't show - do I have to pay Google for that to happen? :P), let's do something fun! Samuel says I don't put in as much pictures and I "talk" too much. So, let's just have the pictures do the talking now. TOPIC: HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT WEDDING GOWN? (Google, get that up on the first few search results!) 

First, and the most obvious, is to know your body shape well. I'm not going to give you the "it depends on what kind of wedding you envision it to be" talk... coz at the end of the day, your body forces you to make the decision. Ok - pictures!

Are you an apple or a pear?

If you are an apple (read: top-heavy, waist and midriff wider than hips), stay away from gowns that draw attention to your wider assets. Most apple-shaped women have nice legs, so show that off if you're thinking of a short gown. To create an impression of an waist, go for empire-waist and/or v-neck tops. DON'T go for the princess poofy ballgown - 'coz it just doesn't look proportionally right. Accentuate your best figures! Here is a recommended gown:

Thin spaghetti straps, embroided empire-waist clinching just below bust-line creating an illusion of a slim waist, with full drape-down chiffon skirt hiding wide waist/hips.

If you're a pear (read: defined waist, more going on with waist and hips, narrow shoulders) like Beyonce (all the single ladies!), again, go for gowns that accentuate your assets. Think V-neck tops, halter-necks, A-line skirts to hide the hips... stay away from mermaid skirts as it only makes the hips look wider. As you may already have a defined waist, a nice clincher right at the waist will also accentuate it further... pear-shaped ladies are naturally curvy and they should show off all those feminine curves! Recommended for pears:

Strapless gowns accentuates shoulders, defined waist, with A-line full skirt to hide wide hips.

At the end of the day - just try on that gown you've been eyeing. A lot of BTBs on the WWW share that what they see on the rack look very different when they try them on. So go ahead, just try them on! 

On a personal note, I did just that, and I bought both of the two exact type of gowns I mentioned above. I think I'm a pear-shape right, but I got myself an empire-waisted gown and a strapless A-line gown.... it just goes to show, whatever fits you, fits you.
